FOX RIGNEY

AWARENOW OFFICIAL AMBASSADOR FOR MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
DISABILITY ADVOCATE, AUTHOR & CORPORATE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL

Picture

We all go together, or we don’t go at all.

Fox Rigney

"Community can heal the parts of diseases that doctors cannot touch. The MS community shines brighter than the darkest days of fighting fatigue, imbalance, word drop, foot drop, numbness, or sight impairments, to name a few daily battles. Our community has a place for you, whenever you are ready."

"I support AwareNow because the stories they amplify
give voice to those who feel they don't have or can't use their voice.
Struggling with disability, trauma, or injustice is incredibly difficult.
AwareNow gives me hope from reading, listening,
and seeing we don't stand alone."

Our community has a place for you,
whenever you are ready.

About Fox

A future that seemed so clear disappeared with one sentence: “You have Multiple Sclerosis.” In 2012, I was newly married, two years into my professional career, a runner, photographing weddings on the side, and diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). For the first two years, I denied my disease and told almost no one. Slowly slipping into disability, I began volunteering as a photographer for the National MS Society. As my MS progressed, I leaned into advocating for others with disabilities.

I currently lead an MS support group named MS-Abilities, am committee chairperson for the National MS Society’s West Michigan MS Engagement Committee, a member of an MS-focused Government Relations Action Committee, and the board chair of Corewell Heath’s disability-focused resource group. My wife and I work to improve the environment. We’ve planted over 500 trees and are rewilding our land to support endangered butterflies. Beyond my daily work, advocacy, tending the environment, and giving our domestic farm of wonderful animals the best life we’re able, I’m also writing a novel. Every day ends happily exhausted from trying to make the world a little brighter.
